Save As

Save As will save all information relating to the problem session in a disk file.  A dialog will appear in which you specify the drive, directory [optional] and a filename.  EES appends .EES or .EEZ to the file name.  You normally need not provide the .EES extension.

Note that the 64-bit version of EES will save files having an .EES64 file name extension or .EEZ64 for compressed files.

The format that the file will be saved in is selected from the pull-down file type menu directly below the edit box for the file name.

For the 32-bit version of EES, the following options are provided.

The recommended choice is  to  save the file as an .EES file.  This file format will save all of the information in the EES file  (including Parametric and Lookup tables, plots, and variable information) in an efficient binary format that can be saved and read quickly. The file name extension will be .EES

Library type saves the file with a .LIB file name extension.  If a file is saved as a library file with a .LIB filename extension in the USERLIB\ subdirectory, the functions, procedures, modules and subprograms in that file will be automatically read in when EES is started.   Library files can also be read using the Load Library command or the $INCLUDE directive.  See Library files for additional information.

Text file format will save the file with .TXT file name extension.  In this case, only the text in the Equations Window will be saved in a standard ASCII file.

Android Export File will save the EES file in a format that can be read by the Android EES applications.

The Professional version allows files to be saved in an .EEZ file, which is a compressed .EES file.  Compressed EES files are useful when an EES file contains a lot of tabular or plotted data or the Diagram window contains bitmap figures.  All versions of EES after Version 7.659 can read .EEZ files.

The 64-bit version of EES provides the following file type options with the Save As command.

The file types are the same as for the 32-bit version, with the additional ability to save both 32-bit and 64-bit EES and Library files.
