Instant Update Service

EES Instant Update Service is an optional service intended to provide users with the latest version of EES and technical support.

All new EES licenses include one year of Instant Update service..

EES is an unusual program in that it is under continuous development. New versions appear frequently - often daily. The new versions fix bugs in older versions and add new capabilities. With Instant Update Service, users can download a new version from our server whenever they wish to update. The cost for this service is 20% of current cost of the program per year. (The update cost will be 40% of the current cost for EES versions if you have not updated within the last two years). Users with Instant Update Service will be provided with an account name and password to our server from which they can download a new Commercial or Professional version of EES by ftp when they wish to do so. Users with Instant Update Service are also entitled to technical support.

As an EES user, you may be interested in the new Heat Transfer textbook by G.F. Nellis and S.A. Klein (the author of the EES program) published by Cambridge University Press. This is the first textbook to integrate EES and other modern computing tools directly with the application of engineering principles. An extensive heat transfer library for EES was developed in conjunction with this textbook. This library automates the computation of radiation view factors, conduction shape factors, convection heat transfer coefficients, fin efficiencies, and other heat transfer-related information. The textbook provides many detailed examples that illustrate how EES and the heat transfer library can be used to solve realistic heat transfer problems.
